The fourth Annual Granville Mayberry Lucy Days on April 12 and 13 will have fun competitive events that you won’t forget.
On Saturday, April 13, at 2:30 p.m., the Mayberry Event Stage will feature a Lucy Look-A-Like Contest, Chocolate Candy Wrapping Contest, Grape Stomping Contest, Lucy Trivia Contest, and Vitameatavegamin Commercial Trials. Participating in these will be the Ricky & Lucy Tribute Artists.
New to the Lucy Museum this year is an I Love Lucy Slot Machine, and during Mayberry Lucy Days on Friday, April 12 from 1-3 p.m. and Saturday, April 13 from 10 a.m. to noon, you can play the machine for five minutes. Top score wins a prize for each day.
“Flashbacks of The Andy Griffith Show†with Mayberry Tribute Artist will be featured
Saturday at 10 a.m. on the Mayberry Stage. There will also be a Mayberry Trivia Contest, Look-A-Like Contest, Favorite Character Contest, Opie Look-A-Like Contest and other fun events.
The festival features the Squad Car Nationals on Saturday, April 13, where squad cars will be on display in the town of Granville. At 1:30 p.m. there will be a squad car obstacle course which starts in front of Sutton General Store. The awards presentation for this event will be at 2:15 p.m.
April 13 will also include a Mayberry Cruise In where antique cars can be entered between 9 a.m. and noon at the Mayberry Show field on Granville Highway next to festival. Each driver of the car receives a free ticket to the festival. Cars will be chosen to participate in the parade.
The “Here Comes Everybody†Mayberry Lucy Parade takes place at 3:30 p.m. April 13 where actors, tribute artists, etc. will parade down Clover Street.
Saturday will end with the “Wrap It Up: Mayberry Lucy Grand Finale†dinner and four different Mayberry Lucy Favorite Moments of the Shows — presented by actors and tribute artists. The dinner of fish and chicken will be served by Helen’s Restaurant, and you will rotate to four different locations for 30-minute programs.
